Energy Cubes are a method of storing energy and can be connected with any type of generator to gain power. This includes generators/engines from other mods. Energy cubes can also output energy to machines from other mods (especially useful with Forestry if BuildCraft is not installed).
They have the advantage that when broken, their stored energy does not get lost, but is saved, so that they can be moved without fear of wasting energy.
